Fox announced plans today to release the cult classic ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ on Blu-ray Disc on February 3, 2009. Tech specs include 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video, English DTS-HD Lossless 5.1 Master Audio, French and Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround tracks and subtitles. No word on bonus materials but we don’t expect anything major or exclusive for the Blu-ray release. Expect everything from the previous DVD releases. As always, we’ll keep you update once Fox releases more details.
Paramount is set to release the classic horror movie ‘Friday the 13th’ on Blu-ray on February 3, 2009 — day-and-date with the DVD re-release. The movie will be released in a never-before-seen unrated edition. Bonus features include commentary with director Sean Cunningham, four featurettes and the domestic theatrical trailer.
Paramount will also release ‘Friday the 13th Part 2’ and ‘Friday the 13th Part 3’ on DVD, but has yet to announce if they will also be release on Blu-ray. We’ll update this article should Paramount announce anything.
