‘Incendiary’ debuts on Blu-ray Disc May 5

London is rocked by a shocking terrorist bombing in Incendiary, debuting on Blu-ray and DVD May 5 from Image Entertainment. Starring Oscar nominee Michelle Williams and Ewan McGregor, the thriller details an adulterous woman whose life is torn apart when her husband and infant son are killed in a suicide bombing at a soccer match while she is with her lover.

Incendiary was written and directed by Sharon Maguire, based on the novel by Chris Cleave.

‘Valkyrie’ Blu-ray invades retailers May 19

The true story of the German Resistance’s attempted coup and assassination of Adolf Hitler reveals itself when “Valkyrie” is released on Blu-ray Disc and Special Edition DVD with Digital Copy on May 19th from MGM Home Entertainment.

Tom Cruise stars as the German nationalist Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, the mastermind behind the “July 20 plot” to eliminate the art school reject turned dictator Adolf Hitler.

With over three hours of special features, the Valkyrie Blu-ray Disc includes commentary by director Bryan Singer and Tom Cruise, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and more.

Valkyrie Blu-ray Disc will be presented in widescreen format with English 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio; Spanish & French 5.1 Dolby Digital; and Spanish, French, Cantonese, Korean, Mandarin & Brazilian Portuguese subtitles.

‘Sling Blade’ heads to Blu-ray June 16

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced that “Sling Blade” will make its Blu-ray Disc debut on June 16, 2009. The movie will be presented on a BD-50 dual-layer disc with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and a English DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track. Bonus features include audio commentaries, two featurettes, a roundtable discussion and interviews with the cast.

‘The Da Vinci Code: Extended Cut’ coming to Blu-ray

Sony Pictures today announced that “The Da Vinci Code: Extended Cut” debuts on Blu-ray Disc April 29, 2009. The Da Vinci Code: Extended Cut includes 28 minutes of never-before-seen footage and all-new special features including the interactive picture-in-picture (I-PiP) feature “Unlocking the Code” which allows viewers to toggle between eight simultaneous I-PiP streams, new commentary on select scenes with director Ron Howard, and advanced BD-Live features including cinechat in-movie chat and access to $10.00 e-Movie Cash for Angels & Demons.

The set also includes an exclusive high-def first look at Angels & Demons (in theaters May 15th) – a complete five minute scene from the upcoming film introduced by director Ron Howard and available only on The Da Vinci Code: Extended Cut Blu-ray Disc. ‘Notorious’ Blu-ray release announced

The life and death of one of hip-hop’s most iconic MCs is captured in the biopic NOTORIOUS, arriving on Unrated Director’s Cut and Unrated Director’s Cut Collector’s Edition on Blu-ray and DVD April 21.

Featuring over 90 minutes of bonus material, the NOTORIOUS Unrated Director’s Cut Collector’s Edition on Blu-ray and DVD are both highlighted by an Unrated Extended Cut of the film and include, behind-the-scenes footage, deleted scenes, never-before-seen footage of the real B.I.G., film maker commentaries, Digital Copy and more.

The NOTORIOUS Unrated Director’s Cut Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Disc is presented in widescreen format (2.55:1 ration) with English 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio and Spanish 5.1 Audio with French and Spanish subtitles. English subtitles will also be available for the deaf and hard of hearing.

‘The Wrestler’ debuts on Blu-ray April 21

FOX announced today that The Wrestler, one of the most-critically acclaimed films of the year, featured on dozens of year-end “top ten” lists, will debut on Blu-ray Disc and DVD April 21.

Darren Aronofsky directs Mickey Rourke in a career-defining role as Randy “The Ram” Robinson, a veteran performer on the professional wrestling circuit who is desperate to hold on to the fame and glory that once surrounded him. Despite himself and the odds stacked against him, “The Ram” begins to evaluate his state of life, attempting to reconnect with his estranged daughter and striking up a relationship with an exotic dancer with troubles of her own. Bruised and battered both inside and outside the ring, Randy slowly tries to piece together the life he still has; but the thrill of the show and the passion for his art threatens to take it all away from him once again.

HBO miniseries ‘John Adams’ coming to Blu-ray

From the team that brought you Band of Brothers, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, and based on the best-selling, Pulitzer Prize-winning book by David McCullough, comes this 7-part HBO Films Miniseries event that explores American history through one of its founding fathers, John Adams. Set against the backdrop of a nation’s birth, this miniseries, starring Oscar nominees Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney, is a a gripping narrative and study of human nature.

The release is scheduled for June 16, and will include exclusive, interactive Blu-ray features, such as:

– Facts Are Stubborn Things: An exclusive on-screen historical guide

‘Slumdog Millionaire’ heads to Blu-ray March 31

Fox announced today that Best Picture winner Slumdog Millionaire is set for a March 31 release date on DVD & Blu-ray Disc. The film, which almost went straight to DVD, swept this year’s Academy Awards, taking home eight golden statues.

The release will feature tons of bonus materials including:

– Audio commentaries with director Danny Boyle and actor Dev Patel, producer Christian Colson and screenwriter Simon Beaufoy.

– Three featurettes:
“Slumdog Dreams: Danny Boyle & The Making of Slumdog Millionaire”
“From Script To Screen: Toilet Scene”
“Slumdog Cutdown”

– Deleted scenes

– Music video

– “Manjha,” an Indian short film

Both the DVD & Blu-ray version will include a second disc containing a Digital Copy of the film that can be played on your computer or portable devices.
